Semi-plenary lecturer: Guozheng Kang

Professor Guozheng Kang received his B.Eng. degree from Tsinghua University in 1992 and Ph.D. degree from Southwest Jiaotong University in 1997. He also had stints as visiting professor at University of Siegen and Ruhr-University-Bochum, Germany in 2012 and 2010. He is an Advanced Member of Chinese Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, and the Chairman of Sichuan Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, China. He is awarded the Excellent Youth Fund of NSFC (2010), and a Chair professor of Changjiang scholar program of China (2014). He is a Member of Editorial Board of “International Journal of Plasticity”, “ZAMM”, “Acta Mechanica Sinica”, “Chinese Journal of Mechanics”, “Chinese Journal of Solid Mechanics” and “Applied Mathematics and Mechanics (Chinese version)”. Also, he was a Member of International Scientific Committee of AEPA2006, 2008, 2012, 2016 and FM2006, 2008, 2009, 2010. He has published over 200 referred journal papers. His areas of expertise include constitutive model, cyclic plasticity, fatigue and shape memory alloys as well as the meso-mechanics of heterogeneous materials. He has published an English monograph about the cyclic plasticity of materials in 2017.
